What is Our Fixer Upper?

WOW!!!!! I cannot believe someone is here actually reading my blog right now! Hiya! How ya doin? Could I offer you a cup of coffee? Water? I'm not sure how these things work, but I can tell you I am excited to figure it out! I'm not a great writer, and honestly I'm probably not even grammatically correct most of the time.... BUT what I do have going for me is that you are either 1. A supporter (yay!!) 2. A nosey neighbor (Hi, sorry we hit your mailbox) or 3. A curious local thinking "what the heck is Jaz up to now?" no matter who you are, you're reading this now and I'm happy you did! So... back to the title.

Our Fixer Upper is our home, built 31 years ago, it had a few families before us, and I'm sure there will be many after us. My husband and I bought this place with hopes of turning it into our little "first time homeowners" dream, and with much help from family, and lots of labor of love from my husband, we did just that. Not everyone likes our house, not everyone has to, we do, thats all that matters! I'd like to think for our age we are pretty mature people. I don't see many kids our age settled down, married, holding down full time jobs, driving nice cars, in a nice house, while attending church, and magically not owning credit cards or having anyone give us anything for free. We are proud of our house and where we've brought it from. See the photo below of the "after" literally taken today.

and below is the "before" photo of our home, it honestly looks better here than the haunted house we signed up for originally!

We love our home, we were proud of it when it looked like the "before" photo and we are still proud of it now as we look at the "after" Although we are finished with our house, I still plan on posting many things about our house, our decor, what we did, and how much it costed. I also plan on blogging about the normal 22 year old things I do. The full time worker things I do. The wife, dog mom, and churchgoer, things that I do too. I want this to be a place we can all come and get "fall vibes" or whatever season it is, I want it to be a place to come and read with your morning coffee, or before your prayers in the morning. I don't think I have that much to "offer" you when it comes to life wisdoms, but I like to think I'm a pretty good friend, a fun person to talk to, and have a lot of similar thoughts with a variety of people. I hope this is a place to come for myself as well as others can gain some perspective on life, and realize that we are all a lot more alike than we think.
