Fall in Alabama

I am a rare breed of human who could absolutely skip Halloween all together. I think it has something to do with it being oh-so-close to Christmas season. When October 1st hits I could honestly throw my Christmas tree up and start the countdown. I love the holiday season and I can never ever get enough of it, and it is never EVER long enough.

Although I could skip Halloween I could never actually skip the season of fall. So today, instead of wishing it was Christmas I thought I would share my fall day routine... My full time working, Alabamian, dog mommin', fall day. Hopefully sharing and inspiring you to enjoy fall a little bit more yourself!

So most days I wake up alone, my hard working husband leaves for work much earlier than I do. I start my mornings between 5AM-6AM everyday and my first priority is my dog June. June is a cuddle bug and she usually rolls over on her back and snuggles right up against me in the mornings. I will never take for granted the love of a dog. Since June is first priority in the morning, she is the first thing I take care of. I take her downstairs and to the backyard, when we come back inside I leave her food and water. She is usually still so sleepy that she hops back into the bed for the rest of the morning.

After I take care of June, I start taking care of myself... you know what that means? COFFEE! I have recently been starting every morning with a glass of Weight Watchers friendly iced coffee.

With my coffee in hand I am ready to take on the day, and by take on the day I mean cozy up under a blanket on the guestroom sofa, read a little bible, and begin the hour long process that is makeup. While I am getting ready for the day I love watching fall morning routine videos, fall home decor vlogs, or even a feel good Hallmark movie. I just enjoy having the background noise as I get ready to start my day.

After I finish my coffee and my eyeliner its time to brush my teeth, grab my lunch, and run out the door. Even on my way to work I try to keep the positive vibes in the air. I will listen to Lauren Daigle or premature Christmas music in the car...

After 9 long hours of work, I start the journey home. At this point of the day I couldn't wish I was home anymore. I miss my dog, I miss my husband, and I am tired.

My husband usually beats me home and I am thankful for that, he always has June taken care of, and when I am lucky he even has dinner ready! This is the time my husband and I usually spend together, watching some HGTV on the couch, talking about our day... I snuck this photo once of him hanging out where we hang out all the time. Having 2 full time jobs is hard for people who love each other the way we love each other. 3-4 hours together a day is never enough...

When dinner is done I try to clean up all the messes from dinner and the messes I left behind before work.... this is when ME time starts. To end my day (especially in fall & winter) I take a candlelit bath, listen to music, and relax. I take my makeup of, I throw a mud mask on and just enjoy myself.... sometimes I'm in there for an hour! When ME time is up I can usually snuggle up in the bed with my dog and my husband, say my prayers, and finally close my eyes and get ready to do it all again tomorrow. I love my simple little life.
